Easter was spent in County Sligo, Ireland following golfer Gavin Howley, the man behind Arcane and Lion Lettings, and his instructor Keith O'Neill. From the Sligo Golf Academy to the County Sligo Golf Club, we learnt that golf is not only one of the most popular sports in Ireland but also that the country boasts a few of the best golfing clubs internationally with visitors from all around the world. It can be a lot of fun, but it also demands a lot of concentration, dedication, and if you decide to take it up in Ireland, endurance (the cold weather is to blame). We were lucky to golf on a sunny day with splendid sea views to the Atlantic ocean heralding the advent of spring.

An Irish Farm in County Mayo

Martin and Beatrice are the proud owners of this home farm in the west of Ireland, a farm that tends to look more like Noah's Ark: among a group of well-fed cows wonder carefree cats, dogs and a pony, Lucy. Needless, to say these animals are neither milked nor butchered. They are part of the family tradition. The newborn calfs are nursed by their mothers and everything is naturally run. The numbers on the cows' ears indicate "who-is-who" even though Beatrice knows all their names and can distinguish them without  the aid of the name catalogue. A lot of mud, hay,care,captivating bovine eyes, and the eternal maternal bond between a mother and her baby...it's all here.
