An Irish-Greek Christening

the little girl is taken from a 1940s German greeting card; it took me 6-7 hours to cut the pop-out clouds, a couple of friends for company and a bottle of ouzo

The inspiration for the theme of this August christening was delineated in this blog post. Here are a few snapshots of the big day in the life of a little Irish-Greek lady. The holy event took place in Preveza & in Lefkada. If you have any questions about materials and ideas do not hesitate to contact me. Everything was especially hand-made.

the candle: I cut the shape of a dove associated with her second name Eirini as the symbol of peace and then added two hearts. The traditional Lefkadian embroidery with dusty pink silk thread is the work of yiayia Vassiliki.
